Select Groups-Great East

On Friday, May 8th, 2014 SJHS Select Performing groups will be participating in a field trip to Agawam, MA and perform at the Great East Music Festival. The students will be performing for two adjudicators where they will receive comments, a clinic and a rating for their performance. Following will be a stop at 6 Flags New England to reward a long year of hard work!

We hope that Hoffman's Helping Hands fund raiser will help to lower the cost of our trip for every student in a select ensemble. Our goal is $2,000. Please help support our musicians!

About Shaker Middle School Music Department-Select Performing Groups: Shaker Middle School has 5 Select performing groups; Jazz Ensemble, Select Chorus, Select Band, Scherzo, Treble Makers! These groups are chosen through an audition process at the beginning of each school year and include nearly 160 students. Each year these students rehearse after school, and perform multiple concerts for friends, family, and the community.
