North Country Horses IEA Teams

NCH is proud to be able to offer kids the opportunity to be part of a team in a world where we usually compete against one another. We believe that if there is a desire we will find a way. Every child who wishes to ride should be able to. NCH has had riders compete at the National level in both Western and Dressage. NCH has also provided horses for Hunt Seat Nationals, Dressage Nationals and Western Nationals, a huge honor and testament to the horses we are able to provide our riders. Horses get kids off of their screens and devices. Horses teach kids confidence and teamwork. Horses provide opportunity to learn compassion and empathy. Horses teach the value of hard work. Horses don’t care about how many friends you have and how you dress. They care about your ability to work in their world. Please consider helping us reach our goals this season by supporting our fundraiser.

About North Country Horses IEA Teams: North Country Horses is home to the first Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) sanctioned riding team in the Glens Falls/Saratoga area competing in both English and Western disciplines. There are currently over 30 students participating on our Hunt Seat, Western and Dressage Team. The 2014/2015 season was our inaugural year. Our teams are made up of riders from Albany, Saratoga, Rensselaer, Washington and Warren Counties. We are fundraising to help defray costs of transportation, equipment and our upcoming horse show season. Our teams are required to fundraise as part of IEA. Nationwide over 10,000 students participate in IEA events across 33 states. Local competitions feed into Regional Semi-finals, Zone Finals and Finals at the National level. Host sites provide horses for competitions. There is no need to own a horse to participate unlike traditional horse showing. Through the IEA students have the opportunity to earn scholarships toward their college education as well as experience showing in a format similar to collegiate programs like the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) and the National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA).
